 Cardinal Truck Scale Manufacturing Shown on TV's "How It's Made"Webb City, MO - Cardinal Scale's truck scale manufacturing processes have been featured in a Fall 2008 episode of cable TV's popular program "How It's Made" airing on the Science Channel. The segment details the production of a 70-foot-long electronic Cardinal truck scale. Beginning on a microscopic level with the creation of the strain gauges that reside in the scale's load cells, the educational program charts the manufacturing course of a Cardinal model EPR truck scale. It proceeds to show the welding processes involved in the steel tubing and load cell stands, the powder paint process, and final assembly where the finished truck scale is shown with test weights being applied to measure its superb accuracy. The episode will air first on the Science Channel Nov. 21, 2008 at 8 pm CST. It will then go into syndication to be shown on other channels, such as the Discovery Channel. The episode will be translated into over 3 dozen different languages to be shown internationally. Cardinal President David Perry says, "When our company was approached by the How It's Made production department for the television show, we were highly honored that we were chosen." Cardinal Scale Directors and siblings Bill Perry III and Rebecca Perry accepted awards from the chamber of commerce for bringing honor to Webb City, MIssouri internationally with the company's recognition as 2008 Missouri Exporter of the Year and being profiled on the Science Channel's How It's Made TV show. Southwest Missouri Bank and Cable One were the sponsors of the event and presented an advance copy of the How It's Made TV show DVD to the Cardinal staff. |
