When a vehicle crosses the mainline system and has a transponder, all appropriate transponder data is electronically transmitted to the weigh station along with the data from the mainline WIM screening system where it is evaluated in the central computer. If the vehicle is cleared to proceed, a signal is sent to the vehicle's transponder giving the signal to the driver that it is clear to proceed or to go in the weigh station.
